| Ironman Canada Coach's Status |
Hi Guys,
By now you are aware that IM Canada did not go according to plan for either Andrea or myself. The drive up was relaxing but unfortunately we both got bronchitis and ended up on antibiotics. Despite this we started the day with a positive attitude, determined to try as we could.
Our swims were solid and we were both moving well under the conditions. Andrea's day ended early into the run. After battling the bronchitis and her asthmas all the the way through the bike, she lost the fight and was taken to medical. They medicated her, forced her to rest and she is feeling better this morning.
My day began to unravel when I hit the first hills on the bike. An injury I had been nursing with my left knee for the last 3 weeks (Mtn Bike crash at the Camp eagle Xterra) returned with a vengeance and forced me to ride the hills 1 legged. I finished the bike but could not use the knee and ended up reuniting with my lovely wife in medical.
Thank you all for your kind words of support and encouragement.
